Nursing Library Orientation

Where are all the books?

You probably think of books when you hear the word "library". Most all of the library's books are electronic books (e-books), so you do not need to visit the campus to use them. They are available through the library's databases. Unlike doing an article search you can search for and access e-books through a single interface, the Library Catalog. (This link is also on the left hand navigation of the library homepage.)

The library catalog provides an interface for searching both print and electronic books. When you open the catalog you can search by keyword (the default), author, title, ISBN (a unique identifier that each published book has), or other criteria. Type in your search term and click Submit.

You will see a list of results that match your search, including the total number of results. You can click on a book's title to get more information about it, or click the View Full Text button to be taken to that particular book. This will open a new tab in your web browser and open the database with that book's content. If you are off-campus you will need to log in with your remote access information.
