3D Printer Ultimakers 3 Extended

The 3D printer awarded by the National Network of Libraries of Medicine is the Ultimaker 3 Extended. 

Printing Software:

Ultimaker 3 Extended is compatible with Ultimaker Cura, a software into which designs are uploaded, prepared, and sent to the printer. Ultimaker Cura is a free and open-source software. Find the latest downloadable version on the Ultimaker site under 'Software.'

Downloadable 3D Designs:

The following sites hold 3D designs categorized by art, fashion, gadgets, hobby, household, learning, models, tools, and toys and games. 

Thingiverse contains over 1.5 million designs and counting pertaining to art, fashion, gadgets, hobby, household, learning, models, tools, and toys and games. New designs uploaded daily by 3D printing enthusiasts, designers, engineers and CAD drawing experts. 

Using 3D Printing to Make Personal Protective Equipment is a webinar sponsored by American Libraries, a factor of the American Library Association. This session provides information and resources on making PPE, or personal protective equipment, such as face masks. Links shared during the session are also available.
